culture night, the next generation

As usual, the Chinese table was the most popular for all ages, whether to try one's hand at Chinese calligraphy...

or to have this lovely lady do it for you with perfect precision,

...or to take on an opponent in the chopstick challenge.

That didn't last long!

Mmmm-mmmm

The proverbial "passing of the baton." Ben did such a good job as the new Culture Night coordinator! Now I can graduate knowing that this timeless WTS tradition will continue in good hands.

Philly culture finally represents with hometown team flare and CHEESESTEAKS.

Kids of all cultures want to do things their way!

One of these is not like the others...the "Mexican" trio?

where have all the cherry blossoms gone?

This is the tale of 8 seminary students on spring break and one med school student skipping his classes in a venture to travel down to DC on one VERY CHILLY Thursday in search of non-existant cherry blossoms.

Remind me why I have Sprint again...? Verizon has towers INSIDE the DC metro.

Hmmm...evidence of cherry blossoms...

But one very sad Japanese guy singing "Sakura" to the cherry tree.

"Yes, that is my name, very funny."

Ahhh, there we go!

Then a quick visit to the Smithsonian to see the "world's largest diamond," the Hope Diamond.

Look who it is! My bro and sister-in-law join us for dinner at Tony Chen's.

All be told, it was great to get away for a day!
